Analysis Information

The Unwedge stability analysis is automatically computed whenever input data is entered or edited. The current analysis results are therefore always immediately available. Analysis results are presented in a variety of ways and can be easily copied and pasted into other applications for the writing of reports.

Analysis Information: Wedge Information Panel

A summary of wedge analysis information is always visible in the Sidebar at the right of the screen. Results for each wedge are presented and the display of information can be customized with the Wedge Information Filter dialog. The information can be copied to the clipboard by right-clicking in the panel and selecting Copy from the popup menu.

Analysis Information: Info Viewer

The Info Viewer in Unwedge presents a complete summary of all analysis data, including input parameters, wedge information and support information. The Info Viewer information can be easily copied and pasted into other applications for reports and presentations. It can also be saved directly as a text file.

Analysis Information: Data Tips

Input data and analysis results are also available through interactive Data Tips. Simply hover the mouse over entities on the screen and the available information will be displayed in the form of a popup data tip.

Wedge information (e.g. safety factor, wedge weight, volume, joint areas etc) can be displayed by hovering the mouse over any wedge. This is the same information which is also displayed in the sidebar and can be customized using the Wedge Information Filter dialog.

If the Joint Colours are displayed on the wedge planes, then the joint properties (e.g. orientation, shear strength, water pressure) will be displayed in the data tip when you hover the mouse over a wedge.

Support information can be displayed by placing the mouse over any support element (e.g. bolts, shotcrete or pressure).

The Opening Section coordinates can be displayed by hovering the mouse over any excavation vertex, while you are viewing the Opening Section view.

Analysis Information: Measuring Lengths and Angles

Lengths and angles can be easily measured anywhere on the model with the “Length and Angles” measuring tool option. This allows you to measure wedge dimensions, tunnel dimensions, support spacing, orientations, etc., between any two points on the model.

For example, in the figure below, the length and orientation of one edge of a wedge is being measured. The measuring tool consists of a straight line between two cubes (handles), which highlight the ends of the line. The handles of the measuring tool can be graphically dragged to any point on the 3-dimensional model and will automatically “snap” to vertices and line segments. The length and angle information is displayed in the view.
