Analysis Results: Ground Reaction
& Support Reaction
The primary result of a rock-support interaction analysis is the plot
of Support Pressure versus Tunnel Convergence, which plots the Ground
Reaction curve and the Support Reaction curve. The intersection point
of these two curves determines the mobilized support pressure, final
tunnel convergence and the factor of safety for the support.
Ground reaction (short term and long term) and support
reaction curves.
The above figure shows the short term and long
term ground reaction curves and the support reaction curve. Also
note the vertical dotted line, which marks the position of the tunnel
face (relative to tunnel convergence) and the tunnel profile icon
(in the upper right corner), which helps to visualize the distance
of support installation from the tunnel face.
The tunnel profile icon is interactive – if you hover the mouse
over the icon, you can interactively drag the position of the support
installation relative to the tunnel face. This will change the origin
of the support reaction curve on the plot, updating all analysis results
to reflect the current support installation position.

Analysis Results: Tunnel Section
View
RocSupport results are also displayed in the Tunnel Section View which
shows:
 |
a cross-sectional view of the tunnel diameter
the plastic zone radius (with and without support)
symbolic representations of the applied support (bolts, steelsets,
shotcrete)
a textbox with a summary of input data and analysis results |
Tunnel Section View.
The appearance of the Tunnel Section View can be customized with the
Display Options dialog. For example, the bolts can be displayed using
the actual bolt spacing around the circumference or with any user-defined
number of bolts. Similarly the bolt length can be set to any user-defined
value.
Although bolt length does not enter explicitly into the RocSupport
calculations, the plastic zone radius can be used to help determine
an appropriate bolt length, if bolts are being used for support.

Analysis Results: Info Viewer
The Info Viewer presents a well-formatted text summary of all input
data and analysis results. The Info Viewer data can be easily copied
to the clipboard or saved to a file.

Analysis Results: Probabilistic
Analysis
If you have performed a Probabilistic Analysis with RocSupport,
the results can be plotted as Histograms, Cumulative Distributions
or Scatter Plots. See the Probabilistic
Analysis topic for more information.
