Filters: Overview
RocFall can filter rock paths with specified characteristics from other existing paths in analyses results. Using the filtering options, you can view statistical information and distribution graphs for selected paths only.
Filtering options under Rocks menu

There are three ways of filtering rock paths:
Filters: By Picking
Filter by picking option allows the user to graphically select rock paths with mouse in a view.
Filters: By Value
Filter by Value option filters rock paths based on either endpoint locations or path coordinates.

Filters: By Impact
Filter by Impact option works only if a RocFall model includes barriers and/or collectors. It filters rock paths based on their characteristics, such as Total Kinetic Energy, Translational Velocity, etc., as they pass through collectors or as they impact on barriers.

The filtered paths are shown in a different color (sky blue)

In addition, RocFall gives users the choice of showing filtered rock paths, graphs and statistics of the filtered rock paths attributes only, or displaying all rock paths and their corresponding graphs and statistics. This is done by selecting the Filtered Paths Only option. Users can also delete all filters by selecting the Delete All Filters option in the Rocks sub-menu.
