Report from Virginia Tech Center for Geotechnical Practice and Research, December 2000
By Michael Pockoski and J. Michael Duncan
The objective of this report is to evaluate several limit equilibrium computer programs for analysis of reinforced and unreinforced slopes. The computer programs included in the study are: UTEXAS4©, SLOPE/W©, SLIDE©, XSTABL©, WINSTABL©, RSS©, SNAIL and GoldNail. The evaluation includes comparison of the features of the programs, with particular attention to the issues that relate to the ease of use, breadth of applicability, accuracy, and efficiency. Also included in the evaluation is a comparison of results from a series of example problems.
A Summary Table of Program Ratings is available, or download the entire report, broken into PDF files that can be easily referenced.
