The Export Dataset option in the Statistics menu allows the user to export raw data from a Probabilistic Analysis, to the clipboard, a file, or to Excel.
Data
All available data from the analysis is initially selected for export (except Wedge Vertex Locations, see below). If you do NOT wish to export a given dataset, clear the corresponding checkbox before exporting. If a dataset is grayed out, this means that no statistical distribution was defined for the dataset. See the Data Type topic for more information about Probabilistic Analysis data.
Copy
Select the Copy button to copy the selected datasets to the Windows clipboard. From the clipboard, the data can be pasted into other applications for further analysis or reports.
Save
Select the Save button to save the selected datasets to a file. The Save As dialog will allow you to save the data in one of 3 different text file formats:
a tab delimited text file (*.txt)
a comma separated values (CSV) text file (*.csv)
a space delimited text file (*.prn)
The 3 different formats are all plain ASCII text files, with different methods of delimiting the data in each row of the file.
Excel
Select the Excel button to export the data to Microsoft Excel. If you have the Excel program on your computer, Excel will automatically be launched, and the exported data will appear in a new Excel document.
Wedge Vertex Locations
If selected, the Wedge Vertex Locations data is exported in the following format:
each column of data represents an X, Y or Z coordinate of an intersection point of 3 planes (i.e. a vertex of the wedge, in 3 dimensions)
the heading of each column is a label such as X135 etc, where the numbers represent the plane id
the plane id numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 represent the planes: joint set 1, joint set 2, upper slope, face slope, and tension crack, respectively.
the coordinate system has its origin at the lowermost vertex of the wedge on the face of the slope. This represents the point ( 0 , 0 , 0 ). See the Coordinates and Axes topics for more information about the coordinates used in Swedge.
X124, Y124 and Z124 will not be found listed in the exported data, since vertex 124 is the intersection of joint set 1, joint set 2 and the slope face, which is the origin ( 0 , 0 , 0 ) of the coordinate system as described above.
