Graph Query

Results generated by Point Queries and Line Queries can be graphed with the Graph Query option. This allows you to plot:

After a query is graphed, the results can be exported, and the graph display can be customized. See the Export Query Results and Graph Tools topics for details.

To use Graph Query:

  1. Select Graph Query from the toolbar or Query menu.

  2. In the Plan View, use the mouse to select the query(s) you would like to graph. You can select individual queries or multiple queries (i.e. you can graph multiple queries on the same graph).

NOTE: you can select either Point Queries or Line Queries, but not both (i.e. you cannot graph Point Query and Line Query data on the same graph)

  1. When you are finished selecting queries, press Enter or right-click and select Done Selection, and you will see the Plot Query dialog.

  2. In the Plot Query dialog, the data plotting options depend on whether you have selected Point Queries or Line Queries (see below for details). Select the data you would like to plot, select OK, and the graph will be generated.

Point Query Plotting Options

For Point Queries, the options in the Plot Query dialog allow you to plot:

The Depth versus Data option plots the data along the entire depth of the Point Query. For multi-stage models, you can use the Stages to Plot checkboxes to plot data for selected stages.

If you plot Data vs. Stage Number, Stage Time or Log Time, then you must specify the Depth at which to plot (i.e. the plot represents the data at a single point). NOTE: after a graph is generated, you can use the Depth control in the Sidebar to change the depth, and the graph will be automatically updated. These plotting options are only applicable for multi-stage models.

You can choose a Reference stage if you want to plot data with respect to a particular stage.

Line Query Plotting Options

For Line Queries, the data is always plotted along the horizontal length of the Line Query, at a specified depth. After a graph is generated, you can use the Depth control in the Sidebar to change the depth, and the graph will be automatically updated.

For multi-stage models, you can use the Stages to Plot checkboxes to plot data for selected stages.

You can choose a Reference stage if you want to plot data with respect to a particular stage.

Exporting Query Results

After a query is graphed, you can export the results to the clipboard or to Excel, using right-click menu options. See the Export Query Results topic for details.

Graph Tools

After a query is graphed, the graph display can be customized, see the Graph Tools topic for details.

Right Click Shortcut

The Graph Query option is also available as a right-click shortcut, for individual queries:

  1. Click the right mouse button on a Point Query or Line Query, and it will be "selected".

  2. Select Graph Query from the popup menu, make your selections in the Plot Query dialog, select OK, and the graph will be generated.
