Add Query Point

A Point Query allows you to obtain analysis results along any vertical line through your soil profile. The results can be displayed directly on the model or graphed.

A Point Query is defined by a single point in the Plan View, and represents a vertical line in 3-dimensions.

To add a Point Query:

  1. Select Add Query Point from the toolbar or the Query menu.

  2. You will see the Query Point dialog, in which you can specify the method of generating the analysis points along the vertical line defined by the query point. There are three options:

Choose the desired method, define the number of divisions (if applicable) and select OK.

  1. You will be prompted to define the location of the Point Query in the Plan View. This can be entered graphically with the mouse, or you can use the keyboard to type in the x,y coordinates in the prompt line. NOTE:

  1. After the Point Query location has been entered, the query will be added to the model, and displayed in both the Plan View and 3D View, as described below.

Query ID Number

Queries are automatically given an ID number, which is displayed beside the point query in the Plan View. The ID number is used to identify the query when graphing, exporting results, display purposes etc.

Point Query Results

When a query is initially added, the results are automatically computed and displayed on the model. In the following example, a Point Query has been added at the center of a circular load. NOTE:
