In addition to the primary RocProp database, the user can create their own database of rock properties, which is independent of the primary database. To enter user data:
Select the Create New Record option from the Record menu.
If a user database does not yet exist in the current folder, you will first see the Program Settings dialog which allows you to create a new database, or select an existing database from a different folder.
After the user database has been established, you can enter data for new records in the Add New Record dialog, shown below.
Enter data in the required fields, and select the Add New Record button to add the new record to the user database.
An image file (e.g. a photo of a rock sample) can be saved with each record, by selecting the Add button underneath the Image display area in the Add New Record dialog. Images can be in .BMP, .JPG, .GIF or .PNG format. Images are saved in a user-defined folder, and automatically linked to the database.
If you wish to continue entering records without closing the dialog, make sure the Multiple Record Entry checkbox is selected.
User database record ID numbering is automatic and starts at 10001.
NOTE: entry, editing and deleting of records is restricted to the User Database in RocProp. The primary RocProp database cannot be added to or edited by the user. However, you can search BOTH the primary and/or user databases as configured in the Program Settings dialog.
