RocData > General Features
RocData provides a variety of commonly used metric and imperial stress units for the analysis of strength data. To choose the desired stress units for your analysis:
Select Project Settings.
Select the desired Stress Unit from the drop-list. The following choices are available:
Metric Units
Megapascals (MPa)
Kilopascals (kPa)
Tonnes per square metre (tsm)
Imperial Units
Kilopounds per square inch (ksi)
Kilopounds per square foot (ksf)
Pounds per square inch (psi)
Pounds per square foot (psf)
Tons per square foot (tsf)
NOTE: a "tonne" is the force corresponding to a metric tonne (i.e. 1000 kilograms) and a "ton" is the force corresponding to an imperial ton (i.e. 2000 pounds).
The selected Stress Unit in Project Settings determines the units of all stress input and output data for the current file (e.g. principal stress, normal stress, shear stress, cohesion, etc).
