RocData > General Features
The Sidebar in RocData is the vertical control panel which is available at the left (or right) side of the RocData application window. The Sidebar allows you to enter strength parameters for the currently selected strength criterion, and also displays calculated output parameters.
Hiding / Showing the Sidebar
To hide the Sidebar (e.g. to maximize the size of the failure envelope plots):
Click the mouse on the Show / Hide button (the narrow vertical button) at the middle of the inner edge of the Sidebar. This will hide (minimize) the Sidebar.
To re-display the Sidebar just click this button again (it will remain visible at the edge of the RocData application window, if the Sidebar is minimized).
Re-sizing the Sidebar
The default width of the Sidebar should be suitable in most cases. However, if you wish, you can increase or decrease the width of the Sidebar, by clicking and dragging the inner vertical edge of the Sidebar:
If you hover the mouse cursor over the inner vertical edge of the Sidebar, the cursor will change to a left / right arrow symbol.
When you see this symbol, you can click and drag the edge of the Sidebar to any desired width.
You should not normally need to change the width of the Sidebar. However, you may sometimes find this useful if you are trying to adjust the width of the view, for example, for screen capture purposes.
Displaying the Sidebar on the Right
By default, when you install RocData, the Sidebar is displayed at the left side of the application window. However, the user may choose to display the Sidebar on the right, with the Sidebar Location option in the View menu.
The program will "remember" your selection, and the Sidebar will be displayed according to the current selection (left or right) in the View menu.
