Output Parameters Overview

Whenever input data is entered or changed in RocData, failure envelopes are automatically updated to reflect the current input data. In addition to the basic strength criterion parameters, various other parameters are computed (e.g. tensile strength, uniaxial compressive strength, rock mass deformation modulus), according to the current strength criterion.

The calculated output parameters are displayed in the Sidebar and on the failure envelope plots (in the Project Data summary). See the following links for a summary of output parameters which are computed for each strength criterion:

NOTE: output parameters also depend on whether you are entering data in the Sidebar, or performing a curve fit of strength test data. For example, if you are analyzing intact rock data with the Hoek-Brown criterion, then mi and sigci are computed output values, rather than input values.
