For the Barton-Bandis criterion, the only parameters involved are the basic strength criterion parameters - phi(residual), JRC and JCS. No additional parameters (e.g. tensile strength, uniaxial compressive strength) are computed from the failure envelope, as these parameters are not applicable for the Barton-Bandis criterion.
Curve Fit of Test Data
If you are analyzing direct shear test data with the Barton-Bandis criterion, then the user inputs a value of phi(residual), and JRC and JCS are computed from the curve fit. For more information see the Direct Shear Test Data topic.
Equivalent Mohr-Coulomb Parameters
For the Barton-Bandis envelope, an equivalent Mohr-Coulomb (linear) envelope is automatically calculated over a user-defined stress range, and the best-fit parameters (cohesion and friction angle) are displayed in the Sidebar. See the Equivalent Mohr-Coulomb Parameters topic for more information.
