Phase2 Model > Support > Liners > Define Liner Properties
As discussed in the Liner Overview topic, Liner support in Phase2 can represent a variety of different support types. For example:
Liners in Phase2 allow the user to model reinforcement which is applied in the form of a liner to excavation boundaries. Liners are typically used to model shotcrete. However, liners can be used to model cast concrete linings, for example, or complex steel-set/shotcrete support systems.
Liners in Phase2 can also represent support such as piles or geosynthetics (e.g. geogrids or geotextiles).
NOTE: in the following topics keep in mind the generalized use of the term "Liner" in Phase2, and that the term Liner may include other support types.
Liner Type
To define liner support properties:
Select Define Liners from the toolbar or the Properties menu.
Select the Liner Type (Beam or Geosynthetic).
If the Liner Type = Beam, you can define the properties of a liner which has flexural rigidity (i.e. resistance to bending).
If the Liner Type = Geosynthetic, you can define the properties of reinforcement materials such as geogrids or geotextiles (which have only tensile properties, and zero flexural rigidity).
For details about the liner support properties for each Liner Type, see the Liner Type: Beam and Liner Type: Geosynthetic topics.
