Drawing Tools: Rectangle

The Rectangle option allows the user to add a rectangle or a square anywhere on a view. To add a Rectangle or Square:

1. Select Rectangle from the toolbar or the Add Tool sub-menu of the Tools menu.

2. Enter the first corner graphically with the mouse, or enter x,y coordinates in the prompt line. NOTE: the Vertex Snap and Grid Snap options are available in the right-click menu, if you want to snap exactly to certain coordinates.

3. As you move the mouse, a rectangle will be drawn between the point entered in step 2, and the current cursor location.

NOTE: to draw a SQUARE, hold the Shift key while you are moving the mouse.

4. Enter the second corner graphically with the mouse, or enter x,y coordinates in the prompt line, and the Rectangle or Square will be added to the view.
