Examine2D > Field Stress
The Stress Block is the small icon visible in the upper right corner of the screen, which indicates the relative magnitudes of in situ Field Stress components.
For Plane Strain Analysis, the Stress Block indicates the relative magnitude and orientation of the in-plane principal stresses (Sigma1/Sigma3).
Stress block (Sigma1 = 1.5*Sigma3, Sigma1 angle = 30 degrees from horizontal)

For Complete Plane Strain analysis + Constant Field Stress, the Stress Block indicates the relative magnitude of Sigma1/Sigma3, but does NOT indicate the orientation, which is 3-dimensional.
For Complete Plane Strain analysis + Gravitational Field Stress, the Stress Block indicates the Major Horizontal Stress Ratio.
The display of the Stress Block can be turned on or off in the Display Options dialog. It can also be turned off with a right-click shortcut (right click directly on the Stress Block and select Hide Stress Block).
