Sidebar

The Sidebar in Examine2D is the vertical panel at the right side of the application window, which allows you to interactively change input data, and immediately see the corresponding analysis results on the screen. The following input data is entered in the Sidebar:

• Field Stress

• Elastic Properties

• Strength Properties

• Tunnel Orientation

The Sidebar input is completely interactive:

• the analysis results (e.g. data contours) always correspond to the current Sidebar input values

• each time data is modified in the Sidebar, the Examine2D analysis is automatically computed, and the latest results will be displayed on the screen.

Sidebar Popup Menus

The Field Stress type, Elastic type and Strength type can be changed by selecting the corresponding button in the Sidebar. A popup menu will appear from which you can make a selection, and the sidebar input parameters will be updated accordingly. These settings can also be changed under the General tab in the Project Settings dialog.

Hiding / Showing the Sidebar

To hide the Sidebar (e.g. to maximize the viewing area of the screen), you can click the mouse on the narrow vertical button at the middle of the inner edge of the Sidebar.

To re-display the Sidebar just click this button again (it will remain visible at the edge of the application window, if the Sidebar is minimized).
