Rock Mass Properties

Under the General tab in the Project Settings dialog, you can choose the rock mass elastic type and strength criterion:

• Rock Mass Elastic Type (Isotropic, Transversely Isotropic)

• Rock Mass Strength Criterion (Mohr-Coulomb, Generalized Hoek-Brown).

You can also make these selections using the buttons in the Sidebar.

Although Examine2D is primarily geared towards the analysis of excavations in rock, it can also be used for soil applications. Therefore the material properties which you enter can represent either rock mass or soil properties. The actual values of elastic and strength parameters are entered in the Sidebar.
