The Graph Query option allows you to graph the data generated by queries. To graph query data:
Select Graph Material Queries from the toolbar or the Query menu.
Use the mouse to select a query. Note that you may select only ONE query.
Press Enter or right-click and select Done Selection, and a graph of the query data will be immediately generated.
The y-axis of a graph corresponds to the current contour data (i.e. Sigma 1, Strength Factor, etc).
The Distance axis of a graph corresponds to the distance along the query line. Zero distance corresponds to the first point of the query.
See the note below about the Query Start Point.
Graph Options
If you right-click on a graph, several options are available in the popup menu, including:
Chart Properties
Markers
Sampler
Grayscale
Lock Axes Range
Lock Data
Copy Data to Clipboard
Copy View to Clipboard
Chart in Excel
These options are also available in the View or Edit menus for the Chart View.
Right Click Shortcut
The Graph Query option is also available as a right-click shortcut. If you right-click on a query, a popup menu will appear, from which you can select Graph Data. This is a convenient shortcut for graphing a query.
Query Start Point
When you graph Query data, it is important to note that the first point on the graph corresponds to the location of the circular red dot marker which you will see on a Query. (If you do not see the red dot marker, then go to Display Options, select the Queries tab, and turn on the First point marker checkbox.) The marker allows you to easily identify which end of the Query corresponds to the first data point on the graph.
Furthermore, for Excavation boundaries (which are always closed), it is important to note that the direction in which the Query values are generated, is always COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. Therefore, the values on the graph correspond to a COUNTER-CLOCKWISE direction along the boundary.
