Add Text

The Add Text option allows the user to add text to stereonet or rosette plots.

To add text:

1. Select Add Text from the toolbar or the Tools menu.

2. In the active view, click the LEFT mouse button at the point where you would like to insert the text. (Note: when adding text, you may click ANYWHERE in a plot view, you do not have to click inside the stereonet.)

3. A dialog will appear allowing you to enter the text.

4. Select OK, and the text will be added to the right of the selected location.

Showing / Hiding Text

Text is added on a per document basis (i.e. text added on any plot view will appear on all plot views). However, text can be made visible / invisible on a per view basis, with the Show Drawings option.

Deleting Text

To delete text, use the Delete Text or Delete All option in the Delete sub-menu in the Tools menu. This will delete ALL text added to the current document.

Individual text entries can be deleted by right-clicking on the text, and selecting Delete Text from the popup menu.

Editing Text

Individual text entries can be edited by right-clicking on the text, and selecting Change Text from the popup menu.

Text Colour

The text colour can be modified by the user in the Display Options dialog, on a per view basis.

Tips

• After using Add Line or Add Cone, for example, it is a good idea to use Add Text to add line orientations, cone angles, labels, etc to the plot.

• You may find Add Arrow useful in conjunction with Add Text, for labeling purposes.
