Slide v5.0 Enhances Software's Analytical Capabilities

New version takes slope stability analysis to a new level

TORONTO, ON. (March 20, 2003) - Rocscience Inc., leading developer of geotechnical analysis and design tools, today announced the release of Slide 5.0, their slope stability analysis software. The new version offers added analytical capabilities including Sensitivity, Probabilistic and Back analysis. Version 5.0 also features more than a dozen significant enhancements, specifically created to save time and improve safety on rock and soil projects.

New Features in Slide 5.0
Slide 5.0's Sensitivity analysis offers the ability to assess the relative influence of design parameters on the factor of safety. Slide 5.0 allows users to easily perform a sensitivity analysis and display results on a plot to view the relative influence of input parameters with a few mouse clicks. This feature benefits beginning and advanced Slide users alike with the ease and speed of analyses.

Probabilistic analysis can be performed using virtually any input parameters as random variables to determine the probability of failure and reliability index for a slope. It can also be used for performing Back analysis of material properties and groundwater conditions. In Slide 5.0, Probabilistic analysis and Sensitivity analyses capabilities are well integrated; analyses can be easily performed with the selection of a few checkboxes.

New features also include Automated Surface Optimization to quickly locate the critical slip surface, an Integrated Interpreter allowing users to view slope stability and groundwater results simultaneously and Back analysis of required support force to achieve a specified factor of safety. Slide 5.0's new functionalities provide unparalleled ease of use, flexibility and demonstrable timesavings.

Availability and Pricing
Slide 5.0 is available for Windows 9x, Me, NT4, 2000 and XP, with a Pentium processor and 64MB RAM as a minimum configuration. Prices are $1495.US and $2195.CDN (single license). Network licenses are available, with price based on the number of concurrent users.
