FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Settle3D 2.0 – is an improved program for the calculation of settlement and consolidation under applied loads

Users of all levels can benefit from easier, faster analyses

TORONTO, ON. (February 1, 2009) - Rocscience is pleased to announce the release of Settle3D version 2.0, an upgrade to their popular settlement and consolidation program. Settle3D is an extremely useful program for calculating settlement and consolidation under foundations, embankments and surface loads. Settle3D combines the simplicity of one-dimensional analysis with the power and visualization capabilities of more sophisticated three-dimensional programs.

“When we released Settle3D version 1.0, we knew it wouldn’t be long before we had to come up with version 2.0, due to the sheer number of user requests for additional functionality. Well, here it is!! Version 2.0 development was largely guided by user feedback, and we expect the new and improved features to be very useful for a wide range of settlement analysis requirements”, says our geophysics specialist, Dr. James Hazzard.

New features include:

Enhanced analytical capabilities
  • Multi-Layer Stress Calculations - A multi-layer stress
solution in which the stresses calculated beneath loads
and foundations depend on the stiffness of the
         underlying material layers
  • Rigid Foundations - a rigorous, robust method for
         simulating rigid foundations
  • Empirical methods, such as the Schmertmann method, for
         calculating settlement on cohesionless soils
  • Ability to perform inverse problems such as calculating the
height of a preload required to produce a desired settlement
or calculating the time required to reach a given
         degree of consolidation

    Improved Report Generator
  • Allows users to pick and choose the data they want to see,
using an easy-to-use checklist. Properties and analysis
results are more intuitively laid out

    Many other features including
  • collapsible soils
  • preloads
  • plotting of new data types
  • new graphing options
  • lots of interface improvements

  • Settle3D 2.0 can be purchased for $1295 USD directly from Rocscience by visiting our Web site at www.rocscience.com. A free two-week trial version of the complete program can also be obtained by visiting the "Downloads" section of our website.
