GeoFlorida 2010, West Palm Beach, Florida, February 20-24

GeoFlorida 2010 is the annual Geo-Institute of ASCE conference, which will present a broad perspective on new developments in geotechnical engineering analysis, modeling and design. Technical topics will crosscut all areas of the profession, including constitutive modeling of soil and rock, site assessment and characterization, computational modeling, stability analysis, geoenvironmental engineering, mitigation of geohazards, earthquake engineering, LRFD methods, alternative contracting for geotechnical projects, and case histories. Come see us at booth #100. (January 14, 2010)

GeoHalifax 2009, Halifax, Nova Scotia, September 20-24

62nd Canadian Geotechnical Conference & 10th Joint CGS/IAH-CNC Groundwater Conference The conference theme – Discover Geotechnique – refers to this conference’s tradition of providing an annual forum for uncovering new research developments and advancements in geotechnical engineering and hydrogeology. Dr. Hazzard will present the paper, Calculating Settlement for Irregularly Shaped Rigid Foundations. Drop by our booth #8. (August 12, 2009)

  Asheville 2009, North Carolina, June 28 - July 1

Ashveville, NC 2009 Symposium. This symposium, which brings together the 43rd U.S. Rock Mechanics Symposium and the 4th U.S.-Canada Rock Mechanics Symposium, encompasses all aspects of rock mechanics, rock engineering, and geomechanics. Rocscience will present a paper, Probabilistic Slope Analysis with the Finite Element Method. We have also been invited to present a paper on numerical modeling, It is Better to be Approximately Right than Precisely Wrong: Why Simple Models Work in Mining Geomechanics. We will be at booth #4. (March 30, 2009)

  CIM 2009 & RockEng '09, Toronto, Ontario, May 10 - 13

CIM 2009 and RockEng '09 These two conferences will be held together at the Toronto Convention Centre where there will be joint exhibition. Free passes are available. CIM 2009 will feature the latest in equipment, technology, processes, and services on display at the Canadian mining industry's premier mining event. RockEng ‘09 will focus on the application of rock mechanics to the engineering of rock masses, with particular emphasis on those conditions that make the engineering design and realization difficult. Rocscience will be giving a Short Course on Two-Dimensional Finite Element Modelling of Slopes and Underground Excavations in Blocky Rock Masses. Also visit us at booth #1227. (March 20, 2009)

New Zealand / Australia Tour 2009

International Conference on Rock Joints and Jointed Rock Masses '09, Tucson, Arizona, January 4 - 10

In the civil, geological, mining and petroleum engineering disciplines, engineers face problems associated with geotechnical systems that are in or on jointed rock. Design and construction of a wide variety of geotechnical structures requires a sound knowledge of rock mass mechanical, hydraulic and thermal behaviors. The participants at this conference will share their novel ideas, new developments, technologies, state-of-the-art practices and experiences. Dr. Reginald Hammah will present a paper, Numerical Modelling of Slope Uncertainty Due to Rock Mass Jointing. (Oct. 20, 2008)
